SWEDEN

This is our pre-primary school in Malevik, Sweden

Our curriculum says; "The preeschool should provide children with a secure environment at the same time it challenges them and encourage play and activity. It should inspire children to explore the surrounding world."

Today the children at Malö made black bird of recycling materials.
Best Wishes Susanne, Annie & Carina.

The curriculum says that the preschool should strive to ensure that each child:
Develop their interest and understanding of the different cycles in nature, and how people, nature and society influence each other.

Children is learning about the birds body parts.

After we read about the wolf and the crane we started to draw pictures from the story. The children choose which  animal they wanted to illustrate. Best wishes from Malö.

The children  went to help clean the beach from garbage. And they found a fair amount of it.

Best wishes from Malö and Monsunen.

Today Maleviks preschool went to the fields to look at the Canadian gooses that often comes there.  Unfortunately they already flew away to southern latitudes . But we had a great time playing and trying to fly like birds. We finished of with the beautiful birdsongs, the ones we sang for you when you where here the last time.

At Christmas:
In the evening 23/12 we arrange for the big day, prepare the Christmas tree and the decorate the house and wrap up the Christmas presents.

On the big day, 24/12, we eat a lot together with family and relatives. As it is the darkest time of the year we light a lot of candles. Often the children get a present in a stocking already in the morning and then wait for Santa Claus to bring more. We also play games and watch television.

On Christmas Day, 25/12, a lot of people visit church early in the morning. Those who do not stay at home and spend time with relatives, eat more and play more games.

A lot also go skiing in the middle and north of Sweden or in Norway. You rent a cottage for a week or some days.
The cranes
The cranes often arrive in Sweden in March or April. They arrive at different places where they know they can be fed, for example Hornborgarsjön.
